Practice Description:

Alice Braunstein joined Lawson & Weitzen as a Partner in 2011. Formerly a Partner at Denner Pellegrino, LLP, Ms. Braunstein concentrates her practice in the area of complex tort litigation involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. She also has considerable experience representing clients in a variety of other areas of civil practice, such as class actions, accounting malpractice and business disputes. Ms. Braunstein is also certified to handle care and protection and CHINS cases in the juvenile court. A fierce advocate for her clients, Alice prides herself on handling each and every matter with a great deal of compassion.

Ms. Braunstein has extensive trial experience in state and federal courts and before arbitrators. In her 26 years of practice, Ms. Braunstein has served as both plaintiffs' counsel and defense counsel, earning a reputation as being a true trial lawyer. Ms. Braunstein has obtained numerous million dollar results for her clients. She is a frequent lecturer on trial practice and has been quoted in several publications, including Malcolm Gladwell's best-selling book Blink, in which she was recognized as a leading medical malpractice attorney. Alice has been named a "Massachusetts Super Lawyer" by the publishers of Boston Magazine every year since the designation was first created in 2004 (given to the top 5% of all Massachusetts attorneys), and has received the highest peer-rating established by Martindale-Hubbell's Law Directory. This rating is only given to lawyers and law firms which are considered to have Very High to Preeminent Legal Ability and who are thought to embrace Very High Professional Standards.

Ms. Braunstein is also a leader in the Massachusetts legal community. She has served on Massachusetts Bar Association's House of Delegates since 2004 and has been a Governor on the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorney's Board of Governors since 2007.

Ms. Braunstein is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and to the U.S. District Courts for the District of Massachusetts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and The Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University of Law cum laude in 1984 and holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
